The Biography of Rita Repulsa Joe Rovang 10/31/2000 - Rita Repulsa's story begins over 20,000 years in the past. As the evil overlord Master Vile slowly conquered his home galaxy of M51 (329-MVA1), he and his sinister wife came to possess a human infant daughter, whom they had perhaps adopted from one of Vile's conquered worlds. - The girl, who would become known as Rita Repulsa, was vigorously trained in the ways of evil and the art of spellcraft (111-FWBT), during which time she likely acquired belief in some sort of evil "ultimate force" (333-RIRv) to whom the villains paid homage through destruction and mayhem. Rita's future spiritual advisor, the Ghost of Darkness, may have been a part of this deistic religion. - At Rita's side during childhood was her younger brother Rito, who may have been either an adoptive sibling or the natural son of Vile and his wife; in either case, he was apparently not a skeleton until what would have been age 45 in Rita-years. (436-BITS) - As a child, Rita was often considered a rotten brat with whom Vile was unable to relate (331-MVA3). While Rita was trained in the use of magic, she displayed interest in conquering rather than sacrificial destruction, as indicated by her childhood dreams of possessing a planet of her own (305-NjQ2). - Growing up in a galaxy saturated with evil, Rita may have been somewhat spoiled, claiming to be allergic to good (335-ARA2), and her frequent headaches following defeats may have indicated she was not acclimated to anything but victory. Other childhood influences may have included demons, as Rita would not allow herself to come into contact with water (116-BigS), just like Queen Bansheera's demons. - After adolescence, Rita may have dated unknown suitors up through age 8,000 (315-PoNo), or 20 in Rita-years (241-Wed1). Soon, however, she departed from her home galaxy as an intergalactic sorceress with dreams of universal domination (101-DOTD). On her travels, she may have met up with Scorpina, a young adult like herself who had been trained as a warrior. It was likely through Scorpina that Rita would meet the warrior-girl's mate Goldar (149-ROF1), whose loyalties would lie with Lord Zedd in the future. - Rita would also be joined on her travels by the loyal alien scientist Finster, who may likely have fallen in love with Rita in his youth (326-Pita), growing old under her service for the millennia to come. Another addition to Rita's ranks would be the alien alchemist Baboo, who had to have predated Lokar (128-IOI1) but who was apparently absent during Rita's future alliance with Zedd on Earth (201-Mut1), perhaps returning with the bumbling saboteur Squatt at some point after Zedd's departure. Baboo's future recruitment of Squatt might even have been what prompted Scorpina to sting Baboo on the head, making him whine for a week in Squatt's presence (119-GWE3). - In her quest for power, Rita would enter into a pact with the demonic presence Lokar, prior to her war with Zordon (128-IOI1). Although Lokar would in the future be the apparent source of a great deal of Rita's powers (and may have used his Breath of Doom to allow Scorpina to transform into her monstrous form), Rita apparently struggled to maintain control over him (140-Ddy2). During her initial invocation of the demon's powers, she lost control, perhaps due to inexperience, nearly wiping out the villains (128-IOI1). Rita eventually recovered, however, continuing in her plot to conquer the universe. - At some point, Rita somehow became embroiled in a fateful struggle with the Eltarian sage Zordon at age 9,000 (Fan Club Video), or 23 in Rita-years. The bitter war would rage for two millennia across countless galaxies as both scrambled to amass large arsenals of magical artifacts; Zordon may have been trailing Rita from planet to planet in an effort to thwart her quest for armaments. With Finster's gift for sculpting, however, Rita used her magic to bring life to his creations, creating a legion to combat Zordon and his own army of warriors. - In a dimensional gap on Bromak 5, it was Finster's Putty Patrollers which which engaged Zordon as he sought the singing squash. (108-PRPk) On Sorcery 7, Finster's Terror Toad was a brilliant success (108-PRPk). On the planet Tarmac 3, it was Finster's Nasty Knight who successfully destroyed the planet's finest warrior (112-HBZk) and who may also have crushed Zordon's warriors, stealing the Sword of Darkness from his possession to present to Rita as a gift (118-GWE2), perhaps from Finster. - Despite her generally disagreeable personality, Rita demonstrated warm-hearted affection toward such baby villains as Finster's living monster models (102-HiFv) and the unhatched Tenga eggs in the future (305-NjQ2), as well as the soft-spoken Finster himself (241-Wed1). - Eventually, the struggle between Rita and Zordon found its way to Earth for an unknown reason. It was here that Lord Zedd, perhaps a pre-existing presence on the planet, took Rita and her forces under his wing, likely providing promise of the conquest they sought. Among Zedd's holdings on Earth would be Venus Island, which he could submerge and relocate at will (210-WTVI), as well as his base of operations on the moon, actually an ancient alien palace he had corrupted (329-MVA1). - During Rita's service to Zedd, his magic seemed directed toward animating objects and animals into monsters, while Rita's specialty may have been monster enlargement, although such skills were not exclusive to each villain. - Zedd and Rita apparently formed a successful team despite possessing clashing beliefs. While both valued conquest, Zedd was incredibly skeptical of Rita's superstitions and deities (312-FiFO). At one point, however, Rita would summon Zordon's old rival the Wizard of Deception with the help of her spiritual advisor the Ghost of Darkness, which likely impressed Zedd despite his belief that the ghost was merely a creation of Rita's. (244-RGR1) - Perhaps during a bleak time for Zordon, Zedd would soon depart to rule his holdings in another galaxy, leaving Rita to conquer the planet and sealing off his Chamber of Command. (201-Mut1) The palace was left under Rita's care, and it was there that Finster was able to establish the Monstermatic to mass-produce Putty Patrollers and monsters. - At some point well before the end of the war with Zordon but after the arrival of Squatt, who was apparently predated by Zedd, Scorpina would fall into suspended animation in a cave apparently on Earth, where she would lie until being called back by Rita in the future. (119-GWE3) She may have departed during a critical period for Zordon, feeling Rita didn't need her help, or perhaps storming out after stinging Baboo. - The discovery of the Power Coins may have been a turning point for Zordon; finding five coins (perhaps on the approaching Nemesis) along with a map to a Temple of Power (305-NjQ2), Zordon would turn the tide with his Power Rangers, imbuing his teenaged warriors with superhuman energies and giving them advanced weapons and fighting machines. Rita, however, had found a Power Coin of her own: the sixth, green Power Coin (251-WWR2). - To track down Green Ranger in the future, Rita would use a miniature magic wand on an ancient map which, in all likelihood, she had probably found along with the green Power Coin, perhaps explaining her knowledge of Ninjor's legendary temple; despite the map's long-outdated ancient geographical names, the wand located Tommy, who was in modern-day Angel Grove, named the "Nomad Lands" on the map. (134-GrC1) - Although Rita was the first owner of the green Power Coin (251-WWR2), she apparently waited until modern day to activate the Green Ranger (117-GWE1), despite her ancient use of the Dragonzord (121-GWE5). Due to Green Ranger's altered suit design, Morpher, and Power Coin emblem, Rita may have designed the Green Ranger herself; likewise, she may have created the Dragonzord, with the addition of a Dragon Dagger to control the Zord remotely during the initial absence of a Green Ranger. Technology, after all, was not entirely foreign to Rita, as her spells and secrets were stored on a computer database within her palace (140-Ddy2), likely with Finster's help. - Reminiscent of Rita's future selection of Jason's rival Tommy Oliver, the Green Ranger was apparently designed as an antithesis of the Red Ranger; aside from being a chromatic opposite to Red, Green's Dragonzord was able to take the place of the Tyrannosaurus in the formation of the Dino Megazord, containing a nearly identical cockpit. Furthermore, the Dragonzord was capable of locking onto the top of the Megazord, suggesting that the Dragonzord was designed as a "capture Zord" to sieze control of the Megazord. At some point, the Dragonzord was left to slumber off the coast of California. (121-GWE5) - Eventually, however, perhaps after the arrival of Titanus, Rita attacked with the formidable monster Cyclopsis, who would at a later point be transformed into a Zord which Goldar would pilot. During the attack, Rita (with or without her palace) had to have been on Earth in order to power Cyclopsis (139-Ddy1), perhaps merely a range issue, just as she would have to throw her wand to Earth rather than enlarge monsters from afar. - For an unknown reason during the attack, however, Cyclopsis would be buried under the future site of Angel Grove, and Rita would soon halt the war. By this point, Rita was 11,000 years old, or 28 in Rita-years. - Offering a truce, Rita suddenly doublecrossed Zordon, trapping his essence in an interdimensional time warp and apparently destroying his corporeal body in the process. Moments before vanishing forever into the time warp, however, Zordon focused his powers, trapping Rita and her minions in a space dumpster (Fan Club Video) which would end up on the planetoid Nemesis, which was perhaps leaving the Earth's vicinity on an eccentric solar orbit at the time. - 10,000 years passed, until the summer of 1993, when two Earthen astronauts inadvertantly opened the dumpster's magic seal on the surface of Nemesis as the planetoid presumably returned to the solar system (101-DOTD); having been asleep when released, Rita would find herself 21,000 years old, or 53 in Rita years, having lost her youth during her imprisonment. - Immediately after escaping, Rita destroyed her space dumpster, and her ritual upon being freed then called for the destruction of the nearest planet, which happened to be Earth, causing Rita to laugh. - During her attacks on Earth, Rita would appear to be split between two motives: one, likely learned from her parents, to serve a deity of destruction, perhaps Dark Specter; the other being her duty to conquer the Earth for Lord Zedd, as well as an existing lust for planetary conquest (305-NjQ2). - Upon reclaiming the long-abandoned moon palace, Rita instructed Finster to start making Putty Patrollers, and Goldar was then to conquer the Earth with the clay armada. (101-DOTD) - As Finster worked to assemble her Putty army, Rita apparently took a preliminary flight over Angel Grove, California, a city of great magical and historical importance and near which Zordon had constructed a Command Center during her absence. Rita, riding a flying bicycle which she normally stored near her balcony on the moon palace, was accompanied by Goldar, who flew with the use of black wings which would later be absent, perhaps having been stripped away by Rita following Goldar's first defeat later that day. (101-DOTD) - Perhaps during (or before) Rita's flight, Angel Grove experienced an earthquake of unnatural causes (101-DOTD) as Rita unleashed a magical fury, moving buildings about, burning forests, blowing up mountains, and so forth (Fan Club Video); she was perhaps searching for Zordon's Command Center. - A short while later, Rita returned to her palace and watched in the Repulsascope as five Earthen teenagers walked through the desert wearing Power Morphers on their belts. Recognizing these five as Zordon's attempt to stop her, Rita remarked surprise over his selection of teenagers (101-DOTD), likely being sarcastic, as Zordon was well-known across the universe for his use of teenaged warriors. - To launch her attack, Rita teleported a small squadron of Putties to attack the teens, while Goldar led another squadron into downtown Angel Grove. (101-DOTD) - After the teens had morphed into the Power Rangers and teleported downtown to make short work of Goldar's battalion, Rita angrily confronted Finster, but Squatt suggested she enlarge Goldar with her wand, causing her to grumble that she always had to do everything herself. (101-DOTD) - Rita threw her magic wand to Earth as she would regularly do to enlarge a villain or monster; once giant, Goldar proceeded into the desert for an unknown reason (101-DOTD), although he may have been seeking the Command Center, the source of the Rangers' powers and weapons. Giant monster attacks would continue in this fashion for weeks or months, always progressing into the desert. - Rita's reaction to the formation of the Dino Megazord went unseen, although she was furious over Goldar's failure, storming out with a headache as she would frequently experience following her numerous defeats. (101-DOTD) - Days or weeks later, Rita planned to trap the Power Rangers in a time warp as she had done to Zordon 10,000 years ago; Baboo would design a time hole generator (either modeled after or created from the space shuttle they had encountered on Nemesis) which allowed Finster's Bones monster to warp the Rangers into the time warp (102-HiFv). - After the Rangers had destroyed Bones, which perhaps would have allowed them to escape the time warp, Rita used an incantation to summon a giant knight which pulled the Rangers into the desert outside Angel Grove, effectively interrupting the plot to trap the Rangers. The Giant, however, was soon destroyed. (102-HiFv) - Rebounding, Rita soon took over an industrial waste site, perhaps using lunar toxic waste later used by the Barbaric Brothers (337-ATrp), in order to lure in the socially active Pink and Yellow Rangers. As the girls were ambushed by Putties, the Minotaur was unleashed in the mountains to distract the other Rangers, but the five would regroup and prevail. (103-Tmwk) - Soon, continuing her efforts to split up the Rangers, Rita sent Goldar with King Sphinx, who cast away the other Rangers and teleported Red Ranger alone to the desert. Jason, however, eventually resummoned his teammates, and the monster was destroyed. (104-PrEn) - Rita's next plot involved the use of a musical monster, as Finster used the Gnarly Gnome to hypnotize Angel Grove civilians to lure in the Rangers to be hypnotized themselves. The monster, however, was destroyed. (105-DiDr) - Feeling slightly ill, perhaps from her losses, Rita soon ordered Finster to unleash a monster to consume the world's food supply, despite Finster's lack of confidence in his current model, the Pudgy Pig. When Pudgy Pig was later destroyed, Finster feared that Rita might transform him into a toad or similar creature (106-FdFt), as she had recently threatened during previous plans. - Rita then attempted to steal the intelligence of Billy's friend for herself, perhaps dissatisfied with the caliber of her recent attacks. To this end, Finster sent Eye Guy to Earth, but the monster was destroyed. (107-IEyG) With the defeat of that plan, Rita allowed Baboo to attempt to turn Billy and Kimberly into thugs with a potion, having Finster send the Terror Toad to capture the remaining Rangers. When Zordon's robotic assistant Alpha Five journeyed into a dimensional gap seeking the singing squash as a cure for the potion, Rita apparently sent Putties to stop him as she had done to Zordon eons ago, but the plan failed. (108-PRPk) - Continuing her attacks on the brilliant Blue Ranger, Rita summoned the supernatural Madame Woe to capture and destroy Billy, but the villainess was destroyed in combat. (109-PL&W) - Rita then focused her attention on the Pink Ranger, attempting to kill her in a plane crash, which Squatt attempted to accomplish by putting a potion into her pilot uncle's soda, as the other Rangers battled the Snizard. (110-FPIS) - Later watching as Trini demonstrated her doll collection, Rita was jealous, not having had much of a childhood herself, and intended to attack Trini, although apparently not immediately. (111-FWBT) It was Finster who then planned to attack Zack on his birthday, a job for which Rita used an incantation to summon the Nasty Knight on Earth one night. She would then watch from a cliff on Earth with her henchmen during the monster's battle with Zack. (112-HBZk) - Rita's next plots targeted Trini's family, perhaps part of Rita's recent anger toward the Yellow Ranger; Rita first sent shapeshifting Putties and Pineoctopus to infiltrate a carnival and capture Trini's cousin as bait for the Rangers. (113-NClA) When this failed, Rita used the Dark Warrior to kidnap Trini's uncle in hopes of using his secret formula to turn her monsters invisible. (114-DkWr) - Next, Squatt was sent to sabotage an invention of Billy's in hopes of scrambling the Blue and Pink Rangers' brains to distract them from Rita's attacks. During this crisis, Rita unleashed a Genie whose magic lamp had recently been retrieved from a galaxy which had likely been attacked by Rita eons ago, as the Genie was an entry in Finster's monster book. Rita would be on Earth as the Rangers battled the monster but would retreat with a headache following its destruction. (115-SwPl) - Soon, Rita located the ancient Power Eggs which had been sealed in a magical angel cavern eons ago; Zordon had feared Rita's obtaining of the eggs, likely since her arrival on Earth, as she planned to summon an unstoppable evil force around the Rangers. To release the eggs, Rita, with the help of the despicable Chunky Chicken, kidnapped a young girl, whose touch successfully unlocked the eggs' chest. As Rita flew over the Rangers on her bicycle, however, they blasted the chest out of Squatt and Baboo's hands, returning it to the sea. To attempt to force the Rangers to retrieve the chest for her, Rita had young Maria strung up by a rope at an old factory, but the Rangers saved the girl with the Megazord. (116-BigS) - After her loss of the Power Eggs, Rita was quite cross, saying she should have been ruling the Earth by now (116-BigS), likely speaking of her mission to Lord Zedd. She then proceeded to select a candidate for her green Power Coin, instantly selecting martial artist Tommy Oliver, a rival for Jason. (117-GWE1) Her selection of one of the Ranger's peers came as a surprise to her minions, perhaps since she had resisted this plan for so long. - After sending Putty Patrollers to test Tommy's skills in an alley, Rita recited an alien incantation at a magical altar which contained red candles and a black statue which held a magical white skull, perhaps related to the Ghost of Darkness but likely not Lokar; the energy she summoned was used to prepare her crystal ball to receive Tommy. (117-GWE1) - Confronting Tommy from atop a building in the alley, Rita whisked him away, teleporting him into a mystical chamber within her crystal ball, where the teenager was mummified alive in magical wax from the Gamma Tri system. He would then arise under Rita's control, and the green Power Coin appeared in his hand. On her command, Tommy morphed with the evil green mist which signified Rita's control over him, then teleported into the Command Center to disable Zordon so, according to Rita's plan, he would be unable to aid the Rangers against Green Ranger. (117-GWE1) - Once Zordon's link had been disabled, Rita began phase two, sending Tommy back to Earth incognito. During this time, Rita summoned the Sword of Darkness and brought Tommy to the beach, where he again fought Putties to prove himself before being given the ancient weapon. Back at school, Tommy proceeded to use his Power Coin's energies to teleport an unsuspecting Jason into the Dark Dimension, further fulfilling the Green Ranger's implicit duty of usurping the Red Ranger. (118-GWE2) - In the Dark Dimension, Goldar toyed with Jason, saying Jason had been given to him as a reward from Rita for his faithful service. (118-GWE2) Finding it the perfect time to bring back Scorpina, Rita summoned her from within her cave on Earth and had Goldar join Scorpina as she launched the villains' first attack on downtown Angel Grove; Green Ranger, meanwhile, took Goldar's place in the Dark Dimension to personally kill Jason with the Sword of Darkness, but the teen was teleported to safety at the last second. (119-GWE3) - Shortly after Rita had paired up Scorpina and Goldar, who had a history together, the duo returned bickering due to Goldar's machismo and overprotectiveness, causing Rita to calmly send Goldar into the fray alone. (119-GWE3) - Giant Goldar, dispatched to lure out the Megazord, rampaged in the desert near the Command Center before attacking the city instead, but when the Rangers finally arrived on the scene, Scorpina attacked again on her own, distracting them until giant Goldar took the teens friends Bulk and Skull hostage, at which point Rita flew overhead on her bicycle to taunt the Rangers and ask them to surrender. When the Rangers refused, the humans' bus was placed precariously on a cliff as Rita and Scorpina watched together; Green Ranger, meanwhile, again infiltrated and ransacked the defenseless Command Center. (120-GWE4) - When the Rangers summoned the Megazord and rescued their friends, Rita enlarged Scorpina as her planned eclipse arrived, draining the Megazord's solar cells, although its energy was somewhat replenished by the arrival of the Megazord's Power Swordz. Meanwhile, Rita used a spell to free Green Ranger from his imprisonment in the Command Center and enlarged him to fight the Megazord alongside Goldar and Scorpina. A powerful blast from Goldar and Green Ranger caused the Megazord to fall into a lava pit which had opened in the earth. (120-GWE4) - Back in the palace, Rita toasted with her villains to the total domination of Earth as Tommy again went incognito, not bothering to fight the teens even though they had learned his identity. Rita then summoned the Dragonzord from beneath the sea off the coast of Angel Grove with energy from her fingers. During the Zord's rampage, Green Ranger arrived with the Dragon Dagger, nearly destroying the Rangers when they confronted him without their Zords. (121-GWE5) - Suddenly, however, Zordon's connection to the Command Center was reestablished, and the Zords were revived by streaks of energy from the Rangers Power Coins. In the battle which ensued, the lone Dragonzord was defeated, and the Sword of Darkness was destroyed, freeing Tommy from Rita's control. (121-GWE5) Rita was presumably quite upset. - At a later point, Rita was asleep in a rocking chair on her balcony as Baboo and Squatt created their own monster, Shellshock, but she ignored their commotion and continued sleeping for a while before going elsewhere, perhaps her bedroom. Although Goldar predicted Rita would be upset about the monster, Rita eventually emerged and congratulated the two on their monster's incapacitation of several Rangers. She then had giant Shellshock attack the city to lure out Red Ranger, but the monster was destroyed, giving her a headache. (122-TWSh) - Later, Rita replaced Angel Grove's Forest Spirit Statue (which Billy and Trini had been petitioning to save) with a replica containing the Spidertron monster, also planning for her sleeping powder moths (which perhaps would have been warded off by the real Forest Spirit Statue) to knock out the Rangers. After the plot was defeated, the real statue was returned, perhaps by Finster, who demonstrated a genuine respect for the masterpiece. (123-IBSp) - Upon seeing Kimberly working on a float for a peace parade, Rita wanted a float of her own, but, lacking flowers, instead destroyed Kimberly's float, saying there would be no world peace while she was around; she also sent Finster's suggested Spit Flower monster. (124-SpFl) - Later, Rita hatched a plan to create indestructible Super Putties, distracting the Rangers with the Frankenstein monster as her henchmen mined the magical clay from the Morphing Masters' cave where she had earlier found the Power Eggs. Flying over the screaming crowds of Angel Grove with her mass of super putty, Rita delivered a threatening speech, saying she wouldn't destroy them now, but she would be back and that they had no place to hide. (125-LAMa) - From her flying boulder, Rita watched the Rangers fight the Frankenstein monster for a while before flying off to the moon palace. (125-LAMa) There, following the monster's defeat, Finster used the clay to create a legion of stronger, self-replicating Super Putties, but they were soon destroyed when Tommy and Jason retrieved a set of special pulse blasters from a mystical dinosaur altar guarded by Titanus. (126-GuHo) Rita seemed to continue using Super Putties in place of standard Putties, although they would not demonstrate any of the Super Putties' unique powers. - Rita next transformed a spinning wheel into the Wheel of Misfortune while Putties restrained Tommy to attempt to keep him from helping the others; Rita seemed to be targeting Red Ranger specifically, although the plot would fail. (127-WOMf) - Sick of the Rangers, Rita then decided to use the "heavy artillery," using her altar to summon Mutitis and Lokar with an incantation, inviting them to destroy the Earth (128-IOI1), a plan which clashed with Lord Zedd's plan to rule the world, although Squatt continued to believe Rita would indeed conquer Earth rather than destroy it. - Apparently intending for Mutitis to destroy the city after Lokar had banished the Rangers to her extradimensional Island of Illusion, Rita had Lokar mutate Mutitis. The monster soon defeated the Rangers, at which point they were banished to the island, where they would vanish from existence if their self-confidence waned. (128-IOI1) - Distracted upon noticing the teens were temporarily without their Power Coins on the island, Rita began to recite incantations from her altar to magnify the teens2' fears, apparently neglecting to guide Mutitis in the destruction of the city. As she realized her efforts were failing, Rita appeared in a gigantic form in the island's dimension and personally obliterated the island, but the Rangers escaped to ultimately destroy Mutitis and cause Lokar to retreat into space. (129-IOI2) - Rita's next plan, which she enacted as the teens went on vacation, involved a search for the ancient Mirror of Destruction, a highly destructive artifact which had apparently been a part of Zordon's collection in his mystical lair eons ago. A short while later, Jason's cousin Jeremy serendipitously found the bottle containing the mirror's map in the ocean; Rita may have aided the chance discovery, perhaps if the bottle's magic seal could only be broken by an innocent such as Jeremy. Scorpina was sent to steal the mirror, but both the mirror and Scorpina's creation Rockstar were destroyed. (130-Rkst) - Next, Squatt suggested that Rita attack Kimberly while she was having bad day, and Finster's monster would capture her in a jar before the Rangers saved her. (131-CKim) Soon afterward, Rita was exhausted and wanted a day off, allowing Goldar to take over for the day as she slept in her rocking chair elsewhere; his monster attacks, however, would fail. (132-ASIB) - Emerging onto the balcony some time later, Rita initially demanded to know who'd sent the Fang monster but then, charmed, remembered that she'd told Finster it was her birthday. As Putties kept Tommy from approaching the monster and her henchmen, Rita went to Earth and temporarily restored Fang's precious gooney bird eggs which Squatt and Baboo had eaten, manipulating the monster into destroying the Rangers in order to get back his eggs. Rita would remain on Earth to enlarge Fang and order him to destroy the Angel Grove Dam, but the monster would be destroyed. (133-TYOY) - Recovering from a funk in which she'd appeared to be since the crushing of her Lokar plan, Rita devised the perfect plan to rule the world: she would kidnap Tommy and steal back the Green Ranger powers with the Green Candle, which was formed from the wax Tommy had touched while originally under her spell. (134-GrC1) - As Rita recited an alien incantation to link the candle's flame to the Green Ranger powers after locating Tommy on her ancient map, Goldar took a squadron of Putties to capture Tommy, offering him the chance to work for Rita or lose his powers. To occupy the Rangers as Tommy was held in the Dark Dimension (although he soon escaped), Rita unleashed the shapeshifting Cyclops monster. (134-GrC1) As Tommy's powers waned immediately following the death of the candle's flames, he gave his Power Coin to Jason, halting the drain and preventing Rita from gaining its energies. (135-GrC2) - With the Green Ranger disabled, Rita followed through by targeting the Dragonzord, which remained under the Rangers' control. As the Rangers battled Hatchasaurus, a fearsome monster capable of being regenerated repeatedly by its techno-organic heart Cardiatron, Rita recited a verbal spell commanding the Dragonzord to lose its energy; the spell was successful, until Jason invoked the remaining Green Ranger powers, regaining control over the Zord. (136-BOAF) - Her Green Ranger scheme exhausted, Rita initiated several frantic efforts to conquer the planet, once targeting the land itself, then another targeting the hearts of the people themselves. On her first attempt, Rita sought to poison the environment beyond repair with the Polluticorn (137-CuCl); when that failed, she attempted to turn the population against the Rangers with the use of Twin Man's Ranger duplicatesw, a mission led by Scorpina (138-BROY). - When the Rangers, however, not only defeated the impostors but also enjoyed the celebration of "Power Ranger Day" soon afterward, Rita invoked her most serious plot yet, reciting an altar incantation to awaken Goldar's Warzord Cyclopsis; Finster, meanwhile, used a beam to teleport everyone in the city but the Rangers to another dimension so the teens would have nowhere to hide. (139-Ddy1) - Once the population was gone, Rita flew the entire moon palace to Angel Grove, magnifying her powers tenfold in order to power Cyclopsis as she had done eons ago. She then summoned the Warzord from beneath the city; when it was destroyed by the Ultrazord, Rita banished Titanus into the earth and performed an alien incantation which caused Lokar to return. Now with Lokar's power at her disposal as well, Rita effortlessly recreated Cyclopsis and laughed that the Earth was hers. (139-Ddy1) - After Lokar and Cyclopsis had all but destroyed the Zords, Rita delivered a final blast which caused the Zords to teleport away in defeat, the teens left demorphed and helpless against Rita's communicator jamming. Soon, however, the Command Center computers were able to penetrate Rita's computer data bank while the palace was on Earth, giving Zordon and Alpha full access to her files of spell and secrets, which would allow them to greatly reduce her power or even stop her altogether. (140-Ddy2) - Their Zords re-energized, the Rangers returned to battle, confounding Cyclopsis's operating computer and destroying both Cyclopsis and apparently Lokar as well. Fearing the Rangers would destroy her next, Rita retreated in her palace as instructed by Goldar (although she would reprimand his assertiveness on this occasion), and the citizens of Angel Grove were returned unharmed. (140-Ddy2) - With Lokar gone for good, Zordon considered the blow to Rita to be so serious that he offered the current Rangers the chance to retire. (140-Ddy2) Although her attacks continued, Rita was apparently forced to adopt alternative methods of monster generation for a time, and she apparently held little authority over Goldar. - Rita's first monster of this period was the re-creation of the Pudgy Pig from a living pig using an electronic transformerp device; this was the first time Rita had transformed anything, living or inanimate, into a monster (as was a trademark of Lord Zedd), and the results were quite poor. While Rita had planned for the monster to distract the Rangers as Goldar destroyed the city, the plan failed due to the monster's retaining too many of its animal instincts. (141-PigS) - Rita next used her altar, which she continued to use on occasion following the destruction of Lokar, to summon her infamous lion-goat Goatan with an incantation, creating it from a trophy, which was again similar to Lord Zedd's method of monster creation. (142-L&Bl) - At times acting almost as Rita's superior rather than a mere soldier, Goldar had Squatt plant seeds which grew into the Octoplant monster, hoping the monster would encircle the Earth with its tentacles. (143-RSOE) Unlike Rita's mission for Lord Zedd, however, Goldar dreamed of destroying the planet, wanting to show his own supremacy. (144-CrON) - When Goldar later planned to use the Crystal of Nightmares to sap the teens self-confidence, Rita didn't seem to understand the value of the plan. When Goldar and Scorpina later retreated following a slash from the Megazord's Power Swordz, Rita had yet another headache. (144-CrON) - As Rita later observed Billy's dislike of fish, Goldar told her to use her Goo Fish and then suggested she use a spell to amplify Billy's fear, both of which she did promptly. She soon even asked Goldar what to do next, but he'd already instructed the monster to draw out the Megazord to destroy it. Following the monster's destruction, however, Rita fumed that she couldn't take it anymore, saying she'd had it, perhaps referring to Goldar's orders, her alternative monster source, or both. (145-SFsh) - Following this utter disgust, Rita resumed the use of Finster's traditional Monstermatic creations, attacking with pre-existing monster designs. Unfortunately for Rita, however, the spells and attacks of these monsters were initially countered quite easily by Alpha Five's inventions, likely due to the recent infiltration of her database. - With Rita's regained assertiveness, Goldar was immediately more subservient toward his queen, but he would soon continue to provide suggestions and details for evil plans, now serving more as a general than a commander. - Consulting Finster's monster book, the contents of which Alpha Five had likely scanned, Rita prepared an itching spell for Finster's Fighting Flea, whom they had been waiting for quite some time to use, but the spell would be quickly countered by Alpha's spray. (146-Flea) - When the teens prepared to bury a time capsule for Miss Appleby's class, Rita thought she was the one the people of the future should remember, having Finster create the Jellyfish from his monster book as Goldar sent Putties to distract the teens and Squatt and Baboo attempted to put a picture of Rita into the time capsule. The plan failed, however, and the Rangers defeated Jellyfish upon being quickly outfitted with Alpha's acid-proof protective coating. (147-ROTJ) - Soon, however, Finster was using brand-new monster designs, perhaps from a new book; these monsters were now based on animals (rather than mythological entities), as were nearly all of Zedd's prior to his own shift in monster styles following the defeat of the repowered Green Ranger. Thus, Finster may have borrowed designs from the same source as Zedd's initial monster templates - templates such as the one used for Primator (204-WBeR), for whom Zedd merely had to find an avatar. This would explain why Finster and Zedd's ownership of both late Finster monsters and early Zedd monsters were often intermingled in the future. - Finster's new creations, which were generally more formidable than past monsters, may have been molded from super putty: this was the implication with Grumble Bee, and Lizzinator was described by Zordon as being composed of "supermetals from another galaxy." - The first of Finster's new series may have been the Mantis, created to challenge Trini's new kung fu skills; unlike other monsters, Alpha Five didn't recognize the initial energy signature as being a monster, describing it as an "unknown energy source," giving further credence to the possibility of a new monster source. Despite Zordon's unfamiliarity with these new monsters, however, the Command Center's scanners, as always, continued to provide an analysis on the monsters' abilities. (148-POTM) - When the teens' parents later gathered in the Youth Center, Rita used the Dramole monster to hypnotize them and transport them into a Dark Dimension cell as hostages. When Billy, alone in the Youth Center, was hypnotized by Dramole's gas, Rita controlled him from her altar to force him to retrieve the Dragon Dagger. (149-ROF1) - Rita then blackmailed the Rangers into surrendering their Power Coins, planning for the Dragonzord to destroy the defenseless Angel Grove to prove her wickedness, probably to Zedd. (149-ROF1) When ex-Green Ranger Tommy was teleported to the Command Center, Rita and Goldar showed no concern, knowing his powers had been lost. (150-ROF2) - Suddenly, however, during the Dragonzord's rampage under Goldar's control, a weakened Green Ranger arrived, stealing back the Dragon Dagger. As Goldar and Scorpina grew to fight the Dragonzord, they left the Power Coins unguarded, allowing Green Ranger to take them, recharging his powers in the process. After Dramole's destruction, which caused the hostages to be freed, Rita was furious with Goldar and Scorpina, causing them to cower fearfully. (150-ROF2) - Although Goldar's status took a merely temporary dip following this failure, his respect for Rita apparently dropped off significantly and would not fully recover, perhaps because Rita had humiliated him in front of Scorpina (150-ROF2), whose affections had been increasing during his period of greater responsibility. - Rita's attacks which followed consisted of a string of failed monster attacks, including Grumble Bee, sent to taunt Billy (151-GBee); the Two-Headed Parrot, sent in hopes that it would be more intelligent than other monsters (152-THBO); and Peckster, sent to destroy the buildings of Angel Grove (153-FwlP). - Goldar's involvement in evil plans continued: he initiated the kidnapping of Kimberly's cousin during the Lizzinator's attack (154-ELiz), and he beat Rita to planting the Pumpkin Rapper during Kimberly's appearance on Trick or Treat (155-TOrT). Later, it was Goldar who planned to use spellcasting Slippery Shark after Rita had thought to turn Jason and Tommy against each other (156-OF&N). - For the next attack, Finster was already charging the Soccadillo when Goldar thought to toy with Jason and Zack's soccer tutoring; Rita would then impatiently unleash the monster before it had been charged to full power (157-SeCh), perhaps aware of Lord Zedd's impending deadline. - Later, Rita was in no mood for fun as Squatt and Baboo suggested challenging the Rangers at football, but she would follow Goldar's suggestion to put Rhinoblaster in charge of his own Putty Patroller team. (158-FbSe) - All her previous efforts having failed, Rita finally unleashed the Badges of Darkness, powerful artifacts akin to Power Morphers which morphed a team of Putties into Mutant Rangers, although the Red Mutant's badge may have gone unused as Commander Crayfish led the team, which was personally trained by Goldar. The team, however, would eventually be destroyed. (159-MMMu) - For her final scheme prior to Lord Zedd's arrival, Rita observed Zack's efforts to woo a girl, at which point she called in Goldar to ask his opinion, almost as though she were attempting to train him in the art of designing evil schemes. His suggestion, based on Zack's search for pearls, was the Ecocyte Pearl, which would summon Oysterizer (perhaps one of Zedd's monsters) to pollute the ocean and allow them to conquer the planet. (160-OySt) At this point, Goldar appeared to be serving Rita faithfully, but his loyalty was apparently only for show, as he would quickly abandon Rita for his "true emperor" Lord Zedd. (201-Mut1) - When Zedd returned, Rita was quite distressed, having been unable to conquer Earth as ordered; she begged him for another chance, but he refused, making her sob. Zedd then stripped Rita of her wand and shrank her into a miniature space dumpster which he called her "traveling vehicle," banishing her into space. (201-Mut1) - Unbeknownst to Zedd, however, Rita was apparently able to control the path of her canister, slowly managing to change her trajectory toward Earth. Crashing months later in Angel Grove while asleep (217-WhL1), the miniaturized Rita eventually escaped but was immediately returned to outer space in her dumpster by the Rangers (218-WhL2). - Months after that, Rita had again changed her trajectory, this time crashing on the moon just as Zedd was undergoing his centennial rejuvenation. After Finster had restored her to her proper size, Rita had her faithful servant create a love potion to make Zedd marry her, planning to doublecross Zedd and rule the universe herself. (241-Wed1) - Following a special mood mud treatment, Rita's youthful looks were restored, making her face look 11,000 years old again; she then proceeded to pour Finster's love potion into the chemicals of Zedd's rejuvenator. Meanwhile, Finster recreated dozens of monsters to capture the Rangers as Rita's wedding present to Zedd. (241-Wed1) - When Zedd awoke, Rita quickly accepted his proposal to become his queen, pouring more and more love potion into his goblet as they planned to control the universe together. (242-Wed2) During the wedding, which was performed by Finster, Rita was secretly disgusted by Zedd but did seem to enjoy dancing with him, and she was giddy in anticipation of giving the Rangers to him. (243-Wed3) - On their honeymoon in Serpentera, the newlyweds took turns piloting the giant machine, watching as their army of monsters pursued the Rangers through the desert. After the army had been defeated, however, the couple retreated to the palace shouting and bickering over their loss. (243-Wed3) - Although Rita had been touchy, Zedd later had Goldar respectfully request that she ask the Ghost of Darkness to summon the Wizard of Deception again; Rita, in her private chamber with the Ghost of Darkness's altar, found Zedd's plot to send the Rangers through time ridiculous, but she did as requested. Once the Wizard of Deception had been summoned following the Ghost of Darkness's idea to clone Tommy, Rita excitedly told Finster she could then recreate the evil Green Ranger. (244-RGR1) - Teaming up with Zedd on the balcony, Rita seemed to enjoy Zedd's company, dancing with him to celebrate the Rangers' apparent impending doom, although she retained her plan to take over at some point in the future. (245-RGR2) - When Zedd expressed a desire to have a baby, Rita was horrified, immediately having Finster devise a potion to make him forget about the idea. (245-RGR2) - At a later point, in response to Zedd's disparaging remarks about girls, Rita sent her henchmen (which included Goldar) to turn Tommy and Kimberly against each other to prove herself. Rita would eventually obtain Saba, which Goldar had stolen from White Ranger. Journeying to the park with her henchmen, Rita used Saba to summon and control the Tigerzord, which she had been wanting to do for a long time. White Ranger, however, would steal back the saber, leaving Rita to return to an amused Zedd. (247-BMFJ) - Later, Rita enacted a plan to trap Kimberly in a storybook while Zedd was napping; when he was later awake, Rita tickled her husband affectionately, and they would drink from glasses together while planning to rule the Earth together (248-SBR1). Following the defeat of Zedd's creation Turkeyjerk, an idea they had had together, Rita suggested using Mondo the Magician to battle the Rangers, pleasing Zedd. (249-SBR2) - When the couple later waited for Goldar and Needlenose to conquer Earth's past, Rita happily said they could take a vacation, tickling Zedd's sensitive stomach (250-WWR1), but the plan eventually failed (251-WWR2). - As Zedd was later attempting an incantation to create an evil Billy from a statue, Rita impatiently took his staff and did it herself. Still retaining plans to overthrow Zedd, Rita was bored as she later tried to swipe Zedd's staff a second time, but he grabbed it back and created Vase Face himself. (252-BRGB) - At a later date, Rita and Zedd disagreed over Count Dregon, with Zedd finding Dregon's destructive impulses "too evil for his own good"; Rita, however, liked Dregon, illustrating Rita and Zedd's ideological split on planetary conquering versus destruction. (301-FIN1) - At this point, however, despite their differences, Rita and Zedd were both happy with the team they made, laughing and embracing freely. The couple now seemed genuinely fond of each other despite Zedd's love potion having worn off at some point (315-PoNo) and Rita's lingering disgust over his physical appearance. Rita would no longer have plans of mutiny, as she now eagerly embraced the idea of their conquering Earth together. (302-FIN2) - Only a few months after their wedding, Zedd gave Rita a new Repulsascope as an anniversary gift (304-NjQ1); the couple now appeared genuinely happy together, although Rita would occasionally make good-natured jokes about their marriage and his appearance. - When Rita's younger brother Rito arrived, having heard of the couple's marriage, Rita was pleased to see him. She was quite happy with his gift of Tenga Warriors and extremely proud when he successfully ambushed the Rangers with a fleet of monsters and destroyed the Thunderzords, a plan which she'd hatched personally. (304-NjQ1) - Rita and Zedd now enlarged monsters and villains with their crossed staves, generating an lightning bolt from their point of intersection. (304-NjQ1) Their combined energies finally allowed them to enlarge monsters from afar, something they had previously been unable to do alone. - Knowing that the teens on Nemesis would be searching for the Temple of Power for the ninja powers, Rita attacked with Tengas and had Rito's Vampirus egg placed outside of the temple's entrance in ambush. (305-NjQ2) When the Ninja Rangers defeated the Tengas and used their new Ninjazords against Rito, Rita remained calm, hoping Vampirus could destroy the temple, although her plan would fall through. (307-NjQ4) - Later searching through Oriental laterns stolen by Rito and the others, Rita claimed to have a natural gift for sensing extraordinary power, creating a monster from the wrong lantern after hoping Adam would be unable to fight his own lantern due to its sentimental value. (309-PsLn) - When Finster later presented a magic centipede model to Rita, she refused to use another insect monster, but Rito's horseplay with Zedd would accidentally create the Centiback monster. (311-FD&L) - At another point, Rita was intrigued by the legend of the Kahmalan Face Stealer despite Zedd's teasing; planning to release the Face Stealer and turn every living thing into a zombie, Rita sent Rito and the others to steal the urn, ultimately releasing the evil spirit, although it would later be defeated. (312-FiFO) - On another pseudo-anniversary, Rita was anxious to take a second honeymoon, as Goldar had ruined their first one, but her hurrying caused Zedd to grumble. (313-SHM1) Their plans would fall through following Hate Master's destruction (314-SHM2). - Soon, however, despite Rita's complaints that Zedd never took her anywhere, Zedd had had Serpentera charged for a second honeymoon, during which Rita enjoyed herself, initially laughing when Zedd told her they were out of energy, although they would have to return to the palace. There, she was briefly doused with love potion, causing her to fall in love with Goldar. When antidotes were used on both Rita and Zedd, the villains3 found that Zedd truly loved Rita without Finster's spell. (315-PoNo) - Next, in what she called her most brilliantly engineered plan in 10,000 years, Rita set her sights on Katherine, a teenager from Australia new to Angel Grove. (Coincidentally, the teens had months earlier taken a vacation to Australia, right as Rita had returned to marry Zedd.) Using a shapeshifted Tenga, Rita lured Kat to a secluded location and put her under a powerful spell which allowed her to transform into a feline form, all while under Rita's control. (322-DSP1) - Rita then sent Kat in feline form to infiltrate Kimberly's house as a spy, reporting to Rita at hidden locations in Angel Grove. Knowing the teens daily plans, Rita then sent Kat in human form as a seductress to lure Tommy into another dimension to be destroyed by Goldar while Rito fought the Ninjazords. (316-Cat1) - After Rito had been defeated, Rita initiated Plan B, unleashing Katherine on the city in monster form, but she was ultimately defeated as well, and Tommy was teleported to safety. (317-Cat2) - When they later heard of Finster's discovery of the lost Shogunzords, Rita and Zedd embraced as they planned to destroy the Rangers with their own fleet of Zords. Rita then assigned Kat to secretly steal a Power Coin, and Kat would quickly present her with the pink Power Coin. Later, as Kat secretly watched White Ranger and Ninjor fight Tengas, Rita gave Kat the coin, telling her to steal the Falconzord, which she did once Goldar had grown and Tommy had summoned his Zord. Ninjor was then pummeled by Goldar and captured. (318-ChZ1) - Although Rita thought it was a bad idea, Zedd blackmailed the Rangers into piloting the Shogunzords to destroy Angel Grove for them and force the world to surrender; having completely taken over the plan, Zedd had Rita use Kat as a decoy to lure out the weakened Kimberly while the other Rangers fought Inciserator, allowing Kimberly to be captured. (319-ChZ2) - While Zedd was confronting White Ranger, Rita sought a monster from Finster but was insulted when he asked whether she should wait for Zedd, annoyedly reminding that she used to run the place. Rita attacked the Rangers with See Monster, who failed to hypnotize them, and Rita then activated the Shogunzords, commanding the Rangers to pilot them to destroy the city, planning for the Rangers to become so hated that they would have to join Rita and Zedd's ranks. (320-ChZ3) - When Zedd was depressed over the loss of the Shogunzords as well as his own defeat at the hands of the White Ranger and the loss of Kimberly, Rita quickly stopped her own whining to console and caress her husband, reminding him they still Ninjor and the pink Power Coin, forgetting to mention the Falconzord as well. (320-ChZ3) - Soon, Kat again reported to Rita on Kimberly's daily plans, at which point Rita planned to turn Kimberly's car into a monster so the Rangers would be unable to destroy it. Ultimately, it was a taxi they would end up transforming, with Bulk and Skull inside as well, but they would eventually be freed from within the monster. (321-FCab) - Later, Rita wanted to crush Kimberly's chances at gymnastics, likely knowing (perhaps through her spy Kat) that gymnastics were what had been keeping Kimberly in Angel Grove rather than moving to France as planned, although what Rita didn't realize was that success in the Pan Global trials would mean Kimberly would move anyway. (322-DSP1) - In order to force Kimberly to join the others, Rita and Zedd launched attacks on multiple fronts to split up the Rangers, repeatedly forcing Kim to help the others and exhaust herself. (322-DSP1) After Kat had helped Kim during her fall off a balance beam, Rita learned from Finster, who read from a scroll, that Kat's good deed had overcome Rita's spell. Finster's Garbage Mouth was sent to capture Kat but failed, after which Rita delivered an ultimatum that the teens turn over Kat or Ninjor would be thrown into the Sea of Sorrow. (323-DSP2) - When the teens tried to doublecross Rita with a forcefield generator during the planned exchange, Rita had also doublecrossed them with an empty bottle in place of Ninjor, successfully kidnapping Kat and locking her in the palace dungeon. (323-DSP2) - Planning to cast Kat into the Sea of Sorrow along with Ninjor, Rita later came to the dungeon to find Kat out of her cell, stealing the pink Power Coin from its box before being teleported to safety. Back in the palace, Zedd had known the plan would fail, but Rita frustratedly told him to do better. (324-DSP3) - Annoyed by Tommy at a later date, Rita had Finster create the Ravenator, which she then shrank and had Tommy ingest to force him to eat junk food to destroy him. At this time, however, new Pink Ranger Kat was able to pick up on Rita's plan in time for the Rangers to foil it. (326-Pita) - Angry with Kat, Rita sent Rito to attack Kat and attempted to turn her into a monster once she'd ninja-morphed; Rita missed, however, creating the Brick Bully. (327-ABIW) - When Kat was taking care of the chimp Kelly, Rita and Zedd sent Finster to turn the chimp into a monster which the Rangers wouldn't have the heart to fight, but Billy soon reversed the transformation. (328-Chmp) - Later, Rita was startled when Master Vile suddenly arrived, although she remained in much higher spirits than Zedd. After Ninjor had been released but recaptured, telling the Rangers of Vile's plot to obtain the Zeo Crystal, Pink Ranger arrived in the palace and announced to Rita and Zedd that she wanted to be evil again. (329-MVA1) Although Rita was pleased, she and Zedd had enough doubts to put Kat into Finster's Revivafier to forcibly turn her evil again. (330-MVA2) - When Zedd sensed White Ranger's intrusion to obtain the Zeo Crystal, he and Rita believed Tommy wasn't pure enough to penetrate its forcefield, but he would succeed and then free both Kat and the Falconzord. (330-MVA2) - Following the ruination of Vile's plan, the overlord remained to try again. His next plan would involve the mysterious Dischordia, whose attentions toward Zedd would make Rita jealous. She would later affectionately hold onto Zedd as he enlarged Dischordia. (332-TSOD) - After Master Vile had turned back time with the Orb of Doom (331-RIRv), Rita participated in the initial giant attack on Angel Grove until Master Vile recalled the villains (334-ARA1). - It was later the Aquitian Rangers' destruction of Vile's monster legion and field general which caused Vile to flee the galaxy in disgust. (335-ARA2) - Friendly with Zedd once he had a plan, Rita joined Zedd in destroying the Power Coins which Rito and Goldar had stolen from the ex-Rangers. (336-CEvF) - Later proud of Zedd's plan to poison the Aquitian Rangers, Rita affectionately locked arms with him and said she'd known she hadn't married him for his looks. When Zedd was later angry with Rito, however, Rita stuck up for her brother, suggesting that Goldar had been at fault. (337-ATrp) - Rita was later impressed with Zedd when he planned to turn a bully (young Bulk) into a monster, although when Bratboy later rebelled, Rita told Zedd to remind her never to have kids. Meanwhile, Rito and Goldar had been sent with a map of the Command Center's hidden tunnels to locate the compound's weak spot. (338-Bulk) - When Rita later suggested another monster, Zedd instead summoned his old friend Witchblade for the job; after Witchblade's destruction, however, Rita would amusedly tease him that all his friends were losers. (339-WYTh) - As the kids sought their Zeo Subcrystals, Rita and Zedd spun around merrily, thinking the kids would never find all five crystals. When Zedd's Arachnofiend was destroyed, Rita hatched a plan for next time (340-ACSp), although their efforts to recruit Hydro Hog would not be formulated until after Cestro and Billy had discussed the Aquitians' archenemy. (341-SSOE) - When four of five subcrystals had been found, Rita thought to merely destroy the Command Center, but Zedd wanted the Zeo Crystal for himself once it had been assembled. To pass this mission on to Rito and Goldar, Rita briefly joined them in the Command Center's basement after Finster had determined their location. (342-HdA1) After the crystal had restored time, however, Rito and Goldar would be lost, but the Command Center was successfully destroyed. (343-HdA2) - As the villains danced over their victory, Finster alerted the villains to the invading Machine Empire, for which Rita blamed Zedd as the couple scrambled to evacuate under fire from Quadrafighters. Finster collected what he could of their millennia of accumulated items, and the villains fled on foot. Looking back, Rita lamented that she had just been starting to like the place. When she suddenly remembered Rito and Goldar, Zedd concluded they had failed to retrieve the Zeo Crystal and would have to catch up later. (401-AZB1) - Needing a place to go in Serpentera, Rita contacted Master Vile, who allowed the villains to stay under his protection. (401-AZB1) - Months later, Rita and Goldar returned to the moon hidden in an RV with Finster, having left Squatt and Baboo with Master Vile. While the Varox were hunting the Gold Ranger, perhaps having been hired by Rita, the couple sent a holographic package to the amnesic Rito and Goldar, calling them home to help with their plan to overthrow the Machine Empire. (433-RvOG) Soon, the two henchmen would regain their memories in their sleep, stealing a bike to rendezvous with an energy sphere which transported them to the RV on the moon. (434-GHom) - After King Mondo had been destroyed on Earth, Rita happily declared the world belonged to herself and Zedd (435-MLSt), sending Rito and Goldar to launch the remote-controlled Louie Kaboom (perhaps a rocket animated by Zedd) to claim leadership over the Machine Empire. When Louie's remote was lost, however, the robot rebelled (436-BITS), causing Rita to attempt to pull Louie back to the moon with a super-magnet, although she would instead accidentally steal Detective Stone's new sportscar (438-Aurc). - The couple then proceeded to drive (although discarding their new sportscar) across the surface of the moon searching for the Machine Skybase. (439-RCGo) During a break, Rito and Goldar alerted them to the return of Prince Gasket and Archerina, although Rita and Zedd already knew of the couple's return, saying the Rangers had done them a favor by destroying Louie. (440-TJOB) - At another point, Rito and Goldar tinkered with a propulsion system for the RV to allow them to rocket through Machine security and storm the Machine Skybase. (441-ZR5?) Later still, the villains watched a broadcast of Gold Ranger battling Zeo Ranger Five in Gasket's Machine Arena (442-Kng1), hoping to rule the world after the Rangers and Machine Empire destroyed each other. They would ultimately teleport the other Zeo Rangers to the arena to foil Gasket's scheme. (443-Kng2) - Weeks later, Finster presented Rita with a new monster-creating wand. Rita immediately attempted to turn Kat into a monster again but accidentally turned her purse into a monster instead. When Mondo later attacked with Cog Changer, Rita and Zedd enlarged their Impursonator monster to prevent Mondo from stealing their glory. Rita was quite pleased with her monster, as it was invulnerable to nearly all of the Rangers' attacks.(447-RTW1) - When Mondo nearly destroyed "her" Rangers after banishing Impursonator, Rita was upset, although Zedd didn't care who destroyed them. Finster found the monster, and they used it to infiltrate the Super Zeo Megazord, although Rita would scold the monster after it had wandered out to find the Rangers. (448-RTW2) - As Mondo unleashed Cog Changer and a large battalion of Cogs (likely nearing the end of his resources), Rita sent Impursonator to join in the attack. The two monsters would eventually merge to fight the Rangers' Zords but would be destroyed. (448-RTW2) - After Mondo had sent Gasket fleeing from Earth, Rita and Zedd intervened in the forest as Cogs were pursuing the weakened Gold Ranger. As Rita planned to take the Golden powers to complete her work (likely having hired the Varox months prior), Mondo and Machina confronted Rita and Zedd, who summoned their army of Tengas to combat the Cogs in a vicious battle with no apparent victor. (450-Good) - As the Zeo Rangers later fought giant Mondo and his final few Cogs, Rita and Zedd watched in chairs on a hilltop; after Mondo had lost and had returned to the moon, Rita and Zedd dropped by in their RV and presented the Royal House of Gadgetry with a "peace offering," actually a bomb which obliterated the robots as the couple and their henchmen sped away in the RV. (450-Good) - Despite their long-standing plans to claim the Earth as their own, Rita and Zedd would spend months apparently dormant in their moon palace, either taking a vacation or having realized that they would be unable to get rid of the Rangers. Meanwhile, Rita's old acquaintance Divatox, whom she had to have met in modern day, tried her hand at battling the Rangers, to Rita's personal amusement. (500-TPRM) During this time, the Liarian wizard Lerigot gave Zordon his freedom, releasing his essence from Rita's time warp, although his body would not be restored. (503-SIT3) Also at this time, Dark Specter was amassing his evil legions elsewhere in the universe. - When Dark Specter finally captured Zordon on Eltar and called various villains to the Cimmerian Planet, Rita and Zedd attended, having brought along Goldar, Finster, Tengas, and Z-Putties. As the villains mingled before the banquet, Rita accidentally bumped into Divatox, sparking a deep rivalry between the two villainesses. (601-FON1) - As Rita teased Divatox over her efforts, she was aghast to learn that Divatox had destroyed the Rangers; enraged over Divatox's taunting, followed by a crack from Elgar about her hair, Rita fired a blast of energy from her wand at Divatox's back, but Astronema caught the blast in her hand. (601-FON1) - During the banquet which followed, as Dark Specter displayed the captured Zordon and announced his plans to conquer the universe, the Red Space Ranger was revealed as a spy, escaping with knowledge of Dark Specter's plans. When Dark Specter growled that the spy had to be stopped, Divatox and Rita wrestled as they bickered over which one of them would go before Dark Specter sent Astronema instead. (601-FON1) - Many months later, Elgar contacted Rita and Zedd from the Dark Fortress; the couple told Astronema they had their own plan, but Astronema had been recently put in charge of all of Dark Specter's forces to organize the invasion on the universe. As part of this invasion, Rita and Zedd led a massive army of monsters to attack a planet in the defenseless Vica Galaxy, provoking Gold Ranger's intervention. During the battle, Zedd remarked that it was great to be back in the game. (642-CTD1) - The next day after the forces of good had been defeated nearly everywhere, an energy wave from Zordon's destruction near Earth loomed over Rita and Zedd's forces on the Vica planet; as the light grew brighter, Zedd tried to protect Rita as she screamed, but they were bathed in the golden wave, reducing their army to dust. (643-CTD2) - In the wake of the energy wave, Rita and Zedd found themselves in the form of normal humans; Rita was now a beautiful woman with long, straight, brown hair, wearing a stylish brown dress. As she spun around in amazement, she caught sight of her human husband, who coyly asked her to dance, and they delightedly danced away through the piles of sand which had been their former minions. (643-CTD2) Whether they retained their magical powers is unknown, although they may have been taken "home" (wherever that was) by the initially awestruck Gold Ranger. The fate of Rita's family is also unknown, but it appeared that all of her old allies, including Goldar, Squatt, and even Finster, were casualties of Zordon's energy wave.
